Alternative Colorway: Garden Party Purse

Often, the projects we print in Easy Weaving with Little Looms are one of several iterations the designer created. Projects are rewoven and tweaked for a myriad of reasons: a yarn is discontinued, the designer wanted to try a different color, or a threading error was discovered too late. Sometimes I’m lucky enough to be privy to the variations, which is always fun, and in the case of Angela K. Schneider’s Garden Party Purse, she sent all 3 versions for us to photograph.

Not only did she send the extra purses for us to photograph, but she also shared some of the yarns used, and now I get to share them with you. Current Little Looms magazine subscribers can log in to learn about each of the yarn pairings used, plus get a downloadable version of the final pattern.

For her first purse, which you can see on the left in the photo at the top, Angela did what many of us do and used yarn from her stash. In this case, for the warp Angela used a sportweight-ish 4-ply cotton (with no label) in a natural color.
